Executive Driver & Operations Specialist

Full-Time | $70,000–$85,000 annually
A private Washington, DC-based consulting firm is seeking a professional, highly dependable Executive Driver & Operations Specialist to provide dedicated transportation and logistical support to the firm's principal.
The position is primarily an executive driving role, with responsibility for transportation planning, vehicle management and light operational support. The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional driver who exercises excellent judgment, discretion and situational awareness and takes a proactive approach to anticipating transportation and logistical needs.
The position is based in the Washington, DC/Northern Virginia area and requires extensive familiarity with Capitol Hill, federal government buildings, downtown Washington, area airports and the broader region.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, professional and discreet transportation for the firm's principal to meetings, appointments, airports and other engagements throughout Washington, DC, Northern Virginia and the surrounding region.
- Plan routes, departure times, staging locations, parking and pickup/drop-off logistics based on the principal's schedule.
- Monitor traffic, road closures, weather and other conditions that may affect transportation and adjust plans proactively.
- Monitor flight schedules and coordinate airport transportation, including DCA, IAD, BWI and area FBOs.
- Maintain awareness of the principal's schedule and anticipate transportation requirements and changes without requiring constant direction.
- Maintain the company vehicle in excellent condition, including fueling/charging as applicable, cleaning, detailing, servicing and routine maintenance coordination.
- Ensure the vehicle remains appropriately stocked, organized and prepared for daily use.
- Assist with luggage, documents, meeting materials and other items as needed.
- Provide occasional logistical and operational support, including pickups, deliveries, errands, scheduling coordination and other reasonable business-related tasks.
- Exercise discretion and maintain strict confidentiality regarding the principal, the firm's clients, meetings, conversations, schedules and business activities.
- Provide occasional transportation involving the principal's family as needed.
- Accommodate occasional evening, weekend, airport and travel requirements with reasonable notice.
Qualifications
- Significant professional driving, chauffeur, executive transportation or similar experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent driving record and valid driver's license.
- Demonstrated ability to operate large luxury vehicles safely, smoothly and professionally.
- Strong knowledge of Washington, DC, Capitol Hill, Northern Virginia, regional airports and major transportation routes.
- Exceptional reliability, punctuality and attention to detail.
- Strong judgment, situational awareness and ability to anticipate needs.
- Professional demeanor and ability to interact appropriately with executives, government officials, clients and other professionals.
- Comfortable working independently and making sound logistical decisions without constant supervision.
- Ability to use smartphones, navigation applications, calendars, flight-tracking tools, email and text messaging effectively.
- High degree of discretion and commitment to confidentiality.
- Flexibility regarding schedule changes and occasional evening, weekend and travel requirements.
- Ability to successfully complete a background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) check as a condition of employment.
Prior experience in executive transportation, professional chauffeur services, law enforcement, military service or other roles requiring significant driving, discretion and situational awareness is preferred but not required. Defensive/protective driving training and CPR/AED/First Aid certification are also desirable.
Schedule
This is a full-time position. The primary driving schedule is expected to be Monday through Friday, with Fridays generally focused on vehicle management, operational support, errands and as-needed transportation. The position requires some flexibility for early mornings, evenings, airport transportation, occasional weekend requirements and schedule changes.
Compensation
$70,000–$85,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
