What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Associate Attorney position at DBL Law?
POSITION
DBL Law is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney. This position will perform associate level general litigation work and will work on cases which include defending employment-related claims as well as commercial disputes. The position is based in our Covington, Kentucky office.
JOB DUTIES
- Draft and prepare legal briefs and pleadings
- Work with clients in the preparation of discovery responses
- Prepare and argue motions
- Perform legal research and writing.
- Participate in depositions
- Prepare trial materials and assist at pretrial, trial, and post-trial proceedings
- Multi-task, meet deadlines, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Independently manage cases
- Handle various aspects of litigation, such as motion hearings, meditations, and depositions.
- Respond to administrative charges
- Collaborate with partners and other associates to develop and implement case strategy
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- 3-5 or more years of experience practicing civil litigation in state and federal courts
- Excellent drafting, writing, and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Outstanding academic record and civil litigation experience, strongly preferred
- Must be licensed to practice law in Kentucky
