Job Summary
We are seeking a day shift & evening shift, highly skilled Commercial Trucks Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance. Your expertise will help keep our fleet operating smoothly and efficiently, supporting the success of our operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity for experienced mechanics passionate about heavy equipment and diesel engine repair to showcase their skills in a fast-paced environment. This position is second/third shift. If you are looking for first shift, this position is not for you. This is not a learning opportunity as we are looking to entrust the hired individual to jump right in and know what they are doing.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension, shocks & struts, and HVAC systems on commercial trucks and heavy equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire service, and fluid replacements to maximize vehicle lifespan.
- Fabricate parts or modify existing components using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet specific repair needs.
- Repair and service heavy equipment such as gravel trains, flowboys, flatbeds, etc.
- Perform assembly and disassembly of vehicle components during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety standards.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed for compliance and quality assurance.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks using appropriate equipment to ensure safe handling of large parts or machinery.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with a focus on heavy-duty diesel engines and commercial truck maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of standard maintenance, including brakes, air bags, leaf springs, etc.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding, cutting, soldering, and assembly of custom parts or modifications.
- Knowledge of farm machinery and industrial equipment maintenance practices is advantageous.
- Ability to perform precise repairs on transmissions, brakes (including air brake systems), suspensions, ect. while maintaining safety standards.
- Skilled in the use of power tools, hand tools, hydraulic systems, HVAC components, and changing tires.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to automotive repair and service technician tasks.
