Horizontal Directional Drill Support – Exit Side Operator (for rig sizes 100, 250, 440)
DBE is an underground utilities company with its main headquarters located in Palm Beach County, FL and satellite office in Jacksonville, FL. We specialize in large scale directional drilling and open cut installation of water, sewer, gas, fiber, and power. Location: Based in Palm Beach County, FL (Travel Required)
Horizontal Directional Drill Support – Exit Side Operator (for rig sizes 100, 250, 440)
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain equipment on the exit side of HDD operations (e.g., drill rods, vac trucks, reamers, pipe rollers, support equipment).
- Assist in drill tracking and bore path monitoring using appropriate locating systems.
- Coordinate with the drill rig operator and ground crew to ensure safe and efficient pullback operations.
- Set up and maintain work site safety zones and follow all applicable safety protocols.
- Load/unload pipe and materials, assist with site cleanup and restoration.
- Complete daily equipment checks, maintenance logs, and other required documentation.
- Travel to job sites as needed (FL and Southeast GA).
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in horizontal directional drilling (HDD), particularly on the exit side.
- Ability to read bore plans, site drawings, and utility maps is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred or willingness to obtain).
- Strong understanding of underground utility safety practices.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and lift 50 lbs.
- Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented.
Job Type – Full-time. Must be able to travel. Overnight travel will be required depending on project. Clean Background, Drug Test (at hire and random), and MVR. Home on weekends.
Salary/Pay – Compensation range depending on experience.
