My client is a Community Hospital in Parker, AZ looking for a Surgery RN with at least 3-5 years experience working in a Med/Surge Unit. Relocating candidates are encouraged to apply!! (Modular Houses belonging to the Hospital will be available for relocation purposes).
Responsibilities
- Deliver preoperative assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and patient education to prepare individuals for surgery.
- Administer medications, including IV infusions and injections, following strict protocols and ensuring accurate documentation.
- Implement infection control practices adhering to aseptic techniques and hospital policies to prevent postoperative complications.
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and execute individualized patient care plans.
- Educate patients on postoperative care instructions, pain management strategies, and recovery expectations.
- Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Support discharge planning by coordinating follow-up appointments and providing necessary patient education.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital standards for patient confidentiality and safety.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Registered Nurse in surgical settings with at least three years of relevant practice.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including Epic or Cerner; familiarity with medical documentation standards.
- Excellent assessment skills combined with critical thinking to respond swiftly to emergent situations.
- Knowledge of hospital protocols related to infection control, patient safety, and emergency response procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations and multidisciplinary teams.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are advantageous.
- Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge related to surgery, and physiology fundamentals.
