About the Role:
Dayton Tire Sales has served the Sherman area since 1968. We operate a retail tire and automotive service business alongside a wholesale tire distribution operation that includes internet sales and government contracts. This is a full-time, hands-on position that combines warehouse operations with customer-facing coordinator responsibilities. You will be the backbone of our warehouse and a key point of contact for contracted accounts.
This role is not for someone looking for a quiet day. It moves fast, it requires initiative, and it demands someone who shows up — every day, on time, ready to work. Physical demands listed below:
Physical Demands: This position involves continuous lifting, moving, and stacking of tires ranging from 20 to 60 pounds throughout the entire shift. This is daily, physical, hands-on work. Candidates should understand the demands of this role before applying. Mandatory average 55hr work week. Monday through Saturday
What You Will Do:
Warehouse Operations
- Receive, verify, and put away incoming tire shipments — organized by brand section
- Monitor and fulfill internet orders throughout the day — print orders, locate tires, apply shipping labels, and stage for FedEx pickup by 3:00 PM
- Create invoices in our point-of-sale system for internet orders and contracted accounts
- Process inbound FedEx returns — remove labels, restock, and route paperwork
- Perform part number matching on incoming inventory and maintain location lists
- Maintain singles rack organization and update location guides accordingly
- Keep warehouse organized, aisles clear, and racking stocked in correct brand sections
Contracted Account Coordination
- Serve as the liaison for government and commercial tire accounts
- Perform scheduled disposal tire pickups from contracted locations — on time, every time
- Look up pricing, create invoices, complete required paperwork, and close or file tickets in the system
- Communicate directly with account contacts via phone and email as needed
- Sort incoming disposal tires: trash tires to disposal area same day, casings to retreading staging
Deliveries
- Perform local tire deliveries to wholesale and commercial accounts
- Represent the company professionally at all customer locations
What We Are Looking For
- Reliability above all else — this job requires someone who shows up, every day
- Computer literacy is required — you will be working in our POS/invoicing system daily
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to self-manage throughout the day
- Ability to communicate professionally with government and commercial account contacts
- Comfort with continuous physical labor — this job involves lifting, moving, and stacking tires ranging from 20 to 60 pounds repeatedly throughout the entire shift, every day
- Valid driver's license — must be insurable under company vehicle policy
- Warehouse or distribution experience is a plus but not required
Schedule:
Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Occasional extended hours may be required for time-sensitive deliveries or operational needs.
