Guest Services Team

Basic Function:

This position exists to welcome, assist, and serve guests visiting Carillon Historical Park through admissions, retail, and food and beverage (concession) operations in a timely and accurate manner. While flexibility and cross-training is valued, special interest in one or more of the following is permitted: admissions, retail, and concessions.

General Responsibilities:

• Greet guests, answer questions, sell admission tickets, and accurately take and fulfill concession orders
• Upsell specialty tours and museum memberships
• Assist guests shopping in the Museum Store and ring up sales
• Assist in maintaining store displays and stock rooms
• Assist in keeping work areas clean at all times
• Complete tasks and duties quickly and efficiently
• Accurately operate POS system and count money
• Accurately enter membership and reservation details in to POS system
• Answer phones with politeness and confidence
• Build rapport with guests to create a positive atmosphere
• Assist in store inventory and cleaning days
• Assist where needed for all festivals and special events
• Assist in cleaning card printers and performing other maintenance tasks
• Assist in set up and tear down of pop-up shops and cafés
• Assist in cleaning and maintaining café areas
• Additional duties as assigned by management

Line of Communication and Accountability:

This position reports to the Museum Store Manager

• Familiarity with POS systems and the ability to learn new technologies

• Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients, and other employees in the organization.

• Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of algebra and geometry.

• Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

• Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software (specifically Word). Should also have the ability to learn inventory software and point of sale systems.

• Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions while working in tents or gazebos. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

• Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and is occasionally required to climb or balance and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see color.

Salary : $11 - $12
