What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Girl's Basketball Coach position at Dayton High School?
TITLE: Coach (Assistant)
PRIMARY SUPERVISOR: Head Coach and Athletic Director
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of particular sport and the desire to improve upon this knowledge, teaching skills, professional attitude, disciplinarian, role model and good rapport with athletes.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assume any duty assigned by the head coach (scouting, supervisory duties, segments of practice sessions, etc.)
Direct practice sessions.
Report scores to the local papers and television stations.
Help distribute, collect, evaluate and inventory equipment and uniforms.
Attend meetings, clinics and practices.
Remain in touch with the athletes concerning their lives in and out of school throughout the year.
Work closely with other coaches in the total athletic program.
Assist in conducting summer camps and taking team to varsity camps.
Assist in running tournaments on the J. V./Varsity level.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Term contract with specified beginning and ending dates as indicated in letter of employment. Hours are as designated by superintendent.
EVALUATION: Evaluation of the performance of this job will be based on a combination of self evaluation and supervisor’s evaluation according to the procedures developed for all district personnel.
SALARY: Based upon the adopted salary schedule of the Dayton Board of Education.
