What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Coordinator position at Daystar Kids?

The Facilities Coordinator (“FC”) provides day-to-day assistance for internal and external facility needs for the building, maintaining building compliance with regulatory requirement of governing entities, which is overseen by the Director of Enrollment & Program Administration. The FC is responsible for routine needs as well as needs that arise unexpectedly and must be certain that all work taking place on site stays within agency policies, regulations and quality measures. Key duties include ensuring the facility’s safety, cleanliness and everything is in good working order. The FC adheres to the Agency’s mission and family-centered approach in a positive, professional manner consistent with Daystar Kids culture and values.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Facilities & Operations

· Responsible for day-to-day management and care of the building and grounds; contacts outside vendors for facilities needs as they arise.

· Communicate with the team to ensure understanding, promote coordination, and ensure compliance with policies and practices that pertain to building needs.

· Upholds compliance in maintaining the cleanliness, organization and efficient facility operations, maintenance, and inspections and compliance with Agency building requirements.

· Opens facility & conduct daily walk-throughs to ensure that the building is in working order.

· Ensure that the center's physical facilities comply with local, state and federal laws and provide a safe and appropriate environment.

· Supervises evacuation, fire, and safety drills as required and ensures adherence to practice guidelines and individual evacuation waivers.

· Attends and participates in staff meetings and in-service requirements as needed.

· Maintains confidentiality of all information related to the agency, clients, program participants, family, and staff that may be encountered either formally or informally

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

· High School Diploma required. Associate’s degree and or trade/industrial arts coursework preferred.

· Three years of work experience in providing hands on maintenance in a large facility to include electrical, carpentry, painting, plumbing, drywall repair, and other minor repair work preferred.

· Possess knowledge and skills pertaining to facilities needs

· Relates well with children and adults

· The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

· The employee must be able to stand regularly for long periods of time, sit, bend and assume postures in low positions

· The employee is regularly required to move from a seated position to a standing position promptly

· The employee is regularly required to use hands; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear

· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud

· The employee is expected to work on-site in an office environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
