What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Clerk position at Days Inn by Wyndham- Reidsville?
- Greet and welcome guests in a friendly, professional manner.
- Handle check-ins and check-outs efficiently and accurately.
- Respond to guest inquiries and resolve issues or concerns promptly, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction.
- Answer phone calls, emails, and other communications, addressing requests for information, bookings, and assistance.
- Manage guest reservations and booking systems, ensuring accurate information and up-to-date records.
- Process room reservations, cancellations, and modifications as needed.
- Upsell room types and additional hotel services to maximize revenue.
- Complete daily paperwork and reporting requirements, including room status, guest arrivals/departures, and any issues.
- Maintain accurate guest information in the hotel’s property management system (PMS).
- Perform end-of-day closing procedures, balancing cash drawers, and preparing shift reports.
- Process payments, including credit cards, cash, and third-party billing.
- Ensure all charges are correctly applied and that billing inquiries are addressed accurately.
- Stay informed about the hotel’s services, amenities, policies, and local area attractions to assist guests with recommendations.
- Maintain knowledge of current occupancy, room rates, and special offers.
- Follow all safety and emergency procedures, including fire and evacuation protocols.
- Ensure the security of guest property by following check-in/check-out procedures and monitoring hotel entrances.
- Work closely with other hotel departments (housekeeping, maintenance, food and beverage) to ensure guest needs are met.
- Assist in training and mentoring new staff as needed.
