What are the responsibilities and job description for the Growth & Partnerships Intern position at DayOf?
About DayOf
DayOf is building the transaction infrastructure that connects conference and event attendees with local restaurants, tours, and experiences. We partner with destination marketing organizations to embed bookable local marketplaces into event workflows, turning every conference into measurable economic impact for the host city. We are early stage with a small team and live pilots in multiple destinations.
The Internship
You will be working directly with the founding team. Your job will be to help us figure out everything that makes the marketplace work: supply, partnerships, activation, and the learnings that facilitate growth and expansion. You will help define the tactical playbook with which we build this company. You will own real work, build relationships across the travel and events industry, and develop skills in sales, partnerships, and go-to-market strategy at a real, early-stage startup. For the right person, this will be an incredible growth opportunity.
- Source and onboard restaurants, tour operators, and local experiences in each destination. Help figure out which categories, packages, price points, and presentation formats actually drive buyers to book.
- Get buyers to the marketplace and convert. Work to get DayOf in front of buyers.
- Source partnerships with event organizers directly to help build the pipeline of events where we test and prove this model.
- Track key metrics: booking rates, conversion by source, supplier performance, activation rates. Interpret what is working and what to change.
- Help build the playbook so that launching the 20th event is faster and higher-converting than the 5th.
- Improve the product through practical insights from real-world conversations.
Duration & Schedule
This internship can start immediately. It will be full-time over the summer, with flexibility around the academic calendar during the school year. Depending on need, it could involve travel to destination markets and partner events within the United States.
Who You Are
- A rising junior, rising senior, recent or soon-to-be graduate, or current graduate student with coursework or experience in sales, marketing, hospitality, or a related field.
- Interested in entrepreneurship, startups, or building something from scratch. You want to learn what it takes to go from zero to one, and there is no better way to learn than on somebody else's dime.
- Experience or strong interest in sales, event marketing, or hospitality work.
- Comfortable in an early-stage environment where things move fast, priorities shift, and you are figuring things out as much as executing a plan.
- You have driven adoption of something before: a product, a program, a market, an event, a campus organization. You can articulate what worked and why.
- Data-driven, disciplined, and experimental. You pay attention to what the numbers say.
Compensation
• $20/hr.
• Clear path to full-time conversion.
How to Apply
Send a note to internship@dayof.travel with your resume, LinkedIn, and a short video (3 minutes max) answering the following two questions.
- Tell us about a time you convinced someone to sponsor, partner with, or support something you were building. A business, a brand, a donor, whatever. How did you get them to say yes?
- Tell us about something you organized or launched that completely fell flat the first time, and what you did differently to make it work. We are not looking for a polished answer here. We genuinely want to hear about something that went sideways. The worse the first attempt, the better. What we care about is what you learned and how you fixed it.
