Summary
The Training Specialist is responsible for designing, delivering, and maintaining training programs that support the effective use of clinical and administrative systems across the organization. This includes initial onboarding, refresher training, system upgrade preparation, and targeted instruction for new workflows or regulatory changes. The Training Specialist collaborates with Information Systems staff, clinical leaders, and operational stakeholders to ensure staff are confident and competent in using systems such as the Electronic Health Record (EHR), Patient Portal, Direct Messaging, and other interoperability tools. This position helps bridge the gap between technology and users by translating complex processes into easy-to-understand, hands-on learning experiences.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver instructor-led and virtual training sessions for staff using EHR systems and supporting technologies
- Create and maintain user-friendly training materials, including quick guides, video tutorials, and reference tools
- Provide onboarding training for new hires and support cross-training initiatives within departments
- Assist in testing new workflows and system upgrades to ensure training materials remain accurate and relevant
- Track training participation and compliance using internal systems or LMS tools
- Provide follow-up support to staff and gather feedback for ongoing improvements
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by management.

Qualification Requirements:

- Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging, effective training to adult learners
- Experience developing user support materials, including guides and videos
- Familiarity with EHR systems and workflows, particularly in behavioral health or medical settings
- Ability to adapt instruction styles to suit different learning needs
- Comfort with change management and rollout of new tools or workflows
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Health Informatics, Communications, or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a training, instructional design, or system support role
- Prior experience with NextGen or other EHR platforms preferred
- Experience with video capture, editing tools, or learning management systems is a plus
