The Resident Assistant (RA) does just that, assists the residents within the community. Resident assistants are responsible for the well-being of those residents receiving personal care, assisted living or Alzheimer’s/Memory Care Services. While assisting can contain a borad scope of things, most of the time it is helping with activities of daily living (ADLs).
Job Requirements:
· Must have earned a high school diploma, a General Education Diploma or high school equivalent.
· Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age.
· Must be able to push/pull and carry up to 50 pounds.
· Must obtain Basic First Aid and CPR certification within thirty (30) days of hire, or as required by applicable regulation, whichever is greater.
· Understanding of and willingness to conduct themselves according to the policies and procedures in the company Handbook.
· Respect for and adherence to the Dress Code.
· Understanding of sexual harassment and the way it is reported.
· Must obtain satisfactory criminal records check as required by the regulatory agency and the company. Must be able to effectively communicate in written and spoken English.
· Regular and timely attendance.

The Resident Assistant is required to perform all job-related duties as directed by the Team Leader, Assistant Executive Director, and the company Management. The RA should understand that this Job Description is not all-inclusive, and that the company reserves the right to revise and/or change position requirements and/or responsibilities, as needed.
Responsibilities:
Check in on every resident you are responsible for at the beginning of your shift, throughout the shift, and at the end of the shift. Document and report any concerns or changes in resident conditions in CHART OR LOG and verbally to your supervisor.
· Assist residents with their personal care, assisted living and/or Alzheimer’s / Memory Care needs and activities as assigned and as requested by residents or their legal representative. Follow the plan of care as shown in CHART OR LOG.
· Assist residents with dressing changes or any other proxy health task that you have been trained for.
· Respond to resident emergency call light within 7 minutes.
· Attend team member meetings as required.
· Inform the Person in Charge (PIC) of any supply needs. (This could be your supervisor, home health, hospice or proxy) Record in Allis the specific supplies that were requested and who you requested them from.
· Report all incidents and accidents to the Person on Charge immediately following the occurrence, regardless of how minor
· Maintain confidentiality of resident’s personal care, assisted living and Alzheimer’s/Memory Care needs. (HIPPA)
· Honor resident rights at all times.
· Comply with all abuse and exploitation reporting requirements at all times.
· Actively participate as assigned in resident activities, special events and programs. You are expected to take the residents you are responsible for to all activities and stay with them during the activity.
Physical Demands:
o Must be able to work under stress and in emergency situations.
o Must be able to work under conditions, which require sitting, standing, walking, reaching, pulling, pushing, and grasping with risk of environmental exposure to communicable disease.
o Must be able to talk and listen effectively to convey instructions and information to residents and team members.
o Must be able to communicate effectively and sensitively with other team members, referral sources, physicians, residents, and their responsible parties.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
