This role is integral to achieving company objectives through accountability, results-driven leadership, and effective problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily guidance, motivation, and direction to Dock Workers (including employees and agency workers) to achieve operational goals for the terminal.
- Escalate issues such as poor performance, inappropriate behavior, absenteeism, etc., to the Operations Manager for prompt resolution.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, company, and customer safety protocols and requirements.
- Work with the Operations Manager to track and analyze monthly performance statistics for the dock.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in transportation or warehouse operations, with preference for dock operations.
- Proven leadership experience in transportation or related industry is a strong asset.
- Advanced verbal communication skills (English and Spanish are both an asset).
- Strong computer proficiency: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, web-based applications, RF scanners; TMW experience is a strong asset.
- Knowledge of industry-related equipment, including forklifts, lift jacks, trailers, etc.
