Specialized Ranch Hand (Farming and Land Management)
We are looking for a reliable, skilled, and motivated Specialized Ranch Hand to support daily ranch operations with a strong focus on farming activities, land maintenance, and equipment operation. This position is well suited for an individual with hands-on agricultural experience who takes pride in maintaining productive land, safely operating machinery, and contributing to the success of a working ranch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform field preparation activities, including plowing, tilling, planting, and soil conditioning
- Assist with crop establishment and ongoing maintenance, including irrigation setup, operation, and monitoring
- Clear land of brush, debris, and obstacles to maintain and expand usable acreage
- Maintain and improve ranch trails, roads, and access routes to ensure safe and efficient travel
- Operate and maintain farm and ranch equipment, including tractors, plows, mowers, and utility vehicles
- Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and basic repairs on equipment and ranch tools
- Monitor land conditions and report concerns such as erosion, drainage issues, or pest activity
- Support seasonal projects and assist with general ranch operations as needed
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in farming, ranching, or agricultural operations preferred
- Proven ability to operate agricultural machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Strong working knowledge of land management and maintenance practices
- Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and manage tasks effectively
- Physically capable of performing strenuous outdoor work in varying weather conditions
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with irrigation systems and water management
- Knowledge of soil health, crop cycles, and seasonal farming practices
- Trail construction, land clearing, or site preparation experience
- Welding, fabrication, or small - engine repair skills
