We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Business Analyst to support complex enterprise initiatives in a dynamic Agile/Hybrid environment. This role requires strong leadership, analytical thinking, and the ability to drive collaboration across business and technical teams.
Location: Lansing, Michigan (candidates must reside within 90 minutes)
Work Model: Hybrid (Onsite 2 days per week – no remote-only option)
Duration: Long-term contract with potential for full-time conversion

Key Responsibilities
- Lead requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders across Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Analyze business processes, identify impacts, and recommend optimal IT solutions and integrations
- Serve as a liaison between agency stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams on application requests, standards, and project initiatives
- Lead artifact reviews with cross-functional teams including Enterprise Security to ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards
- Participate in solution design discussions and contribute to architecture assessments and documentation
- Validate project schedules and deliverables in alignment with established project management and systems engineering methodologies
- Develop business process documentation, system diagrams, and data flow diagrams for project and RFP needs
- Approve project documentation and test plans while ensuring alignment with strategic goals
- Manage defect tracking, differentiate between defects and enhancements, and initiate change requests as needed
- Develop and maintain communication plans with stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams
- Support training development and facilitate end-user training sessions
- Create and maintain Test Plans, Test Cases, and Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTM)
- Perform functional and regression testing and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Collaborate with Product Owners to write clear user stories with acceptance criteria (BDD/Gherkin format)
- Assist in backlog prioritization and facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, grooming, and demos
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, Marketing, or a related field
- Strong experience working in Agile/Hybrid environments
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into user stories with clear acceptance criteria
- Expertise in breaking down complex requirements into smaller, actionable deliverables
- Experience working with vendor-owned, designed, and hosted solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- 7 years of Business Analyst experience in Agile environments
- Experience working with Scrum or Kanban frameworks
- Experience using Azure DevOps for work item tracking and source control
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI and Visio
- Experience with Oracle or SQL Server
