We are seeking an experienced ArcGIS Lead to oversee the design, development, and deployment of GIS-based solutions that support enterprise business operations. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise with Esri ArcGIS technologies, SQL Server, Python automation, and web-based GIS applications, coupled with strong leadership and system integration skills. Candidates must possess valid authorization to work in the United States and be eligible for engagement on a W2 basis only. This position requires on-site presence two days per week
You will be responsible for guiding the GIS team, maintaining enterprise GIS infrastructure, and implementing custom solutions that enhance spatial data management and business workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the administration and optimization of ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal, Server, Data Store) and ArcGIS Online environments.
- Design, build, and maintain custom ArcGIS solutions, including web maps, dashboards, and custom web apps.
- Develop and manage Survey123 forms, field data collection processes, and integrated workflows.
- Oversee SQL Server spatial databases, schema design, indexing, and integration with GIS applications.
- Develop Python batch jobs and scripts using ArcPy and the ArcGIS API for Python for automation, data processing, and system maintenance.
- Use ModelBuilder and ArcGIS Pro for advanced geoprocessing, spatial analysis, and model automation.
- Integrate ArcGIS solutions with Power Automate and other enterprise tools to streamline workflows.
- Create and maintain SSRS reports and dashboards for spatial and non-spatial data visualization.
- Manage deployment pipelines, version control (GIT), and IIS-hosted GIS web applications.
- Develop and maintain custom web mapping applications using ArcGIS API for JavaScript, ArcGIS Experience Builder, ArcGIS Dashboards, and Python-based web services.
- Ensure system reliability, performance optimization, and compliance with organizational security and governance standards.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and support to GIS analysts and developers.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, Geography, or related field.
• 7 years of hands-on experience in GIS development and administration, including 3 years in a lead or senior role.
Strong proficiency with:
- ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal, Server, Data Store) and ArcGIS Online
- ArcGIS Pro, ModelBuilder, Survey123, and ArcGIS Experience Builder
- Python (ArcPy, ArcGIS API for Python) and Python batch automation
- SQL Server databases, spatial data modeling, and data integration workflows
- SRS, Power Automate, and IIS
- GIT and deployment pipelines
- Proven ability to design and deliver custom GIS web applications using ArcGIS API for JavaScript.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with FME, PostGIS, or ArcGIS Utility Network.
• Familiarity with cloud deployments (Azure or AWS) for ArcGIS Enterprise.
• Certification in Esri Technical or Enterprise Administration or Project Management (PMP, Agile, Scrum).
• Experience working in utilities, local government, environmental, or infrastructure sectors.
