Program Coordinator Job Description
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
MISSION STATEMENT
Dawn’s Place is a non-profit organization that proactively supports women affected by commercial sexual exploitation (CSE) and its abuse by providing services to women and raising awareness through education, prevention, public policy reform and community collaborations. Because we believe that CSE is a violation of human rights and the most extreme form of domestic violence. Dawn’s Place works to improve the lives of women trapped by, or at risk for CSE through providing housing, trauma recovery services, vocational training and other services.
Summary:
The Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs at Dawn’s Place. This role ensures that services are delivered effectively, align with the organization’s mission, and meet the needs of participants. The Program Coordinator also provides direct case management services to residents, supporting their progress toward stability, independence, and personal goals.
Responsibilities:
Program Management
- Coordinate day-to-day program operations and activities
- Assist in developing and implementing program goals, schedules, and services
- Monitor program outcomes and track participant progress
- Ensure programs comply with organizational policies and funding requirements
Case Management & Resident Support
- Provide direct case management services to residents, including intake, assessment, and individualized service planning
- Develop and monitor individualized goal plans in collaboration with residents
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to track progress and address needs
- Connect residents to internal and external resources (healthcare, employment, education, counseling, etc.)
- Maintain accurate, confidential case notes and documentation
- Support residents in crisis situations using a trauma-informed approach
Staff & Volunteer Support
- Collaborate with the Assistant Director and Residential Coordinator to support staff and volunteers
- Assist with onboarding, scheduling, and communication with volunteers
- Provide guidance and support to program staff as needed
Administrative & Reporting
- Maintain accurate program records, reports, and documentation
- Assist with data collection for grants and program evaluation
- Support the Grant Writer by providing program data and impact stories
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with the Executive Director to align programs with strategic goals
- Participate in team meetings and organizational planning
- Build relationships with community partners and service providers
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, nonprofit management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2 years of experience in program coordination and/or case management
- Experience working with vulnerable populations; trauma-informed care experience strongly preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data tracking systems
Knowledge & Skills:
- Knowledge of case management principles, including assessment, service planning, and documentation
- Understanding of trauma-informed care and best practices for working with vulnerable populations
- Familiarity with community resources and referral systems
- Ability to maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with regulations
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build trust and maintain professional boundaries with residents
- Skill in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and experiences
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- May encounter crude, vulgar, or inappropriate language or behaviors.
- May hear or be exposed to residents’ traumatic experiences.
- Residents may test boundaries or attempt to create staff conflict; staff must maintain professional authority.
- Staff serve as role models at all times.
- Vigilance and attention to detail are required to maintain safety within the residence, responding appropriately to any threat to residents or program integrity.
