Job Summary
Join our team as a Nursing Team Leader and make a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals we support. This leadership role is responsible for supervising Residential Nursing staff, coordinating schedules and staffing needs, ensuring quality nursing care, and supporting compliance with agency policies and healthcare regulations. The Nursing Team Leader works closely with the Chief Medical Officer and plays a key role in maintaining a high standard of care across residential services.
Primary ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Staff Supervision
- Supervise Residential Nurses and provide ongoing coaching and support.
- Conduct probationary and annual performance evaluations.
- Complete personnel documentation, corrective actions, training records, transfers, and payroll-related changes.
- Promote positive staff communication and assist with conflict resolution.
Scheduling and Staffing
- Develop and manage monthly nursing schedules.
- Minimize overtime and coordinate PTO requests.
- Maintain staffing coverage for all nursing shifts.
- Manage staffing on-call responsibilities and fill staffing gaps when necessary.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Conduct oversight visits to evaluate nursing care and documentation.
- Submit supervision schedules and completed oversight reports to the Chief Medical Officer.
- Ensure staff maintain required certifications, training, and competencies.
Administrative Duties
- Review and approve timesheets for payroll.
- Complete reports and records within required timelines.
- Assist the Chief Medical Officer with monthly reporting activities.
- Attend meetings as requested.
Incident and Medical Reporting
- Report suspected abuse or neglect immediately and complete required documentation.
- Report medical concerns promptly and complete Med Concern Forms as required.
Emergency Response
- Coordinate staffing during weather-related and disaster emergencies.
- Assist with emergency transportation planning.
- Provide direct nursing care during emergencies or staffing shortages, including nights, weekends, and holidays when required.
Reporting Relationship
The Nursing Team Leader reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer and performs additional duties as assigned.
