Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (Caregivers) to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with diverse needs. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence within a variety of settings including their home and community-based environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to person-centered care and possess relevant experience in healthcare or social services. Prior training in first aid, CPR, medication assistance, and HIPAA compliance is preferred. Duties
- Teaching of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Teaching daily living skills, such as, socializing, time management, eating and meal planning, money management, and community safety skills.
- Support residents with medication administration following care plans and safety protocols
- Monitor patient vital signs and observe for any changes in health status or behavior
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance residents’ well-being
- Promote nutritious meals according to dietary guidelines and assist with meal planning as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through light cleaning tasks to ensure a safe environment
- Document care activities accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations
- Support clients during community outings or recreational activities to promote social engagement
- Follow all safety procedures, including emergency response protocols like CPR and first aid when necessary
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and team members to develop and implement personalized care plans for each individual
Experience
Candidates should ideally have prior experience working with individuals with various disabilities, in home & community care, assisted living, or long-term care environments. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, mental health diagnoses, or dementia, is highly valued. Familiarity with medication management, patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, and daily documentation is preferred. Candidates with training in first aid, CPR, HIPAA compliance, and developmental disorders are encouraged to apply. A background in home health services will also be considered an asset for this position.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
