Sr. Construction Cost Estimator

A mission-driven construction and development organization is seeking a Sr. Construction Cost Estimator in Southern California, offering the opportunity to support large-scale multifamily and affordable housing projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that takes a true “cradle-to-grave” approach to construction, staying involved from initial site identification through post-occupancy while playing a key role in pre-construction, estimating, cost modeling, and project success.

Qualifications and responsibilities for this Sr. Construction Cost Estimator position include:

• Minimum of 2 years of Sr. Estimator or Chief Estimator experience, 5 years of multifamily or affordable housing construction experience, and 5 years of cost estimating experience.
• Experience estimating multifamily and affordable housing projects, including Type III/V and Type I podium construction.
• Develop, maintain, and refine the Historical Cost Model while maintaining current pricing records for labor and materials.
• Prepare conceptual, schematic design, design development, and construction document estimates with accurate quantity take-offs.
• Manage the pre-development budget and cost estimating process while coordinating with acquisitions, development, construction, project management, and design teams.
• Compile estimates from conceptual drawings using take-offs and historical cost models, with strong field experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, Excel, Procore Financials, Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, and project scheduling tools.
• Review plans, specifications, reports, and studies to identify omissions, validate accuracy, evaluate cost impacts, and support project timelines.

Salary: $100,000 - $132,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
