A dynamic forensic construction consulting firm is seeking an experienced Construction Expert / Expert Witness in La Mesa, CA to join its high-energy, deadline-driven team. This is a unique opportunity to work on complex construction defect cases, provide credible real-world evaluations, and support developers, owners, contractors, insurance carriers, and attorneys with defensible expert insight.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Construction Expert / Expert Witness position include:
- Minimum of 10 years of construction experience across residential, commercial, hospitality, and institutional sectors.
- At least a couple years of expert witness experience, including deposition, arbitration, and trial testimony.
- Conduct on-site inspections and observations of built environments.
- Prepare clear, concise observation and findings reports for construction defect cases.
- Read and interpret construction plans and specifications and perform detailed take-offs.
- Apply extensive knowledge of construction standards, practices, methodologies, and building codes.
- Cost estimating experience is strongly preferred.
- Licensed Engineer or General Contractor license is preferred but not required.
Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
