The Corporate Strategy team is a ~20-person team the reports into the CEO and works directly with the senior leaders of DaVita to define strategic direction. We are responsible for aligning the senior team and our Board on the highest level questions facing DaVita. Through internal consulting and external business development, the team works with the CEO to define our growth aspirations, where and how we compete and the capabilities required to win. The team uses a hypothesis-based approach in problem solving to generate insights, propose strategies and provide objective support to improve decision making. Members of the strategy team gain significant exposure to senior leadership and can have significant impact on organization, while accelerating their career development.
The Senior Director Value-Based Care Strategy will report to the Vice President of Corporate Strategy and is a leadership position within the team. This person will lead a team of directors, analysts and business partners to develop comprehensive strategic solutions and influence the operational leaders to execute on the strategy. For this role, we envision the Director will have an emphasis on our value-based care business, which has experienced significant growth in recent years and currently has $6B of medical cost under management.
Location: Denver or Washington, DC preferred. Flexibility to live in other locations for candidates willing to travel 50-60% of the time.
Types Of Projects Across The Team Can Include
We are looking for an experienced candidate with 8 years of work experience, preferably in a strategy or transformation role in an analytical environment (e.g., management consulting, investment banking). A candidate with an MBA or advanced degree is preferred, but not required. A background in U.S. healthcare is required, and experience with payors or in value-based care is strongly preferred.

The Salary Range for the role is $148,000.00 - $234,000.00/year.
If a candidate is hired, they will be paid at least the minimum wage according to their geographical jurisdiction and the exemption status for the position.
New York Exempt: New York City and Long Island: $66,300.00/year, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $66,300.00/year, Remainder of New York state: $62,353.20/year New York Non-exempt: New York City and Long Island: $17.00/hour, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $17.00/hour, Remainder of New York state: $16.00/hour
Washington Exempt: $80,168.40/year Washington Non-exempt: Bellingham: $19.13/hour, Burien: $21.63/hour, Everette: $20.77/hour, Unincorporated King County: $20.82/hour, Renton: $21.57/hour, Seattle: $21.30/hour, Tukwila: $21.65/hour, Remainder of Washington state: $17.13/hour

- New growth and innovation opportunities for our value-based care business, including approaches to new payment models and opportunities to enhance clinical and economic alignment across the care continuum
- Payor and provider partnership strategy development to enhance patient care and accelerate our shift to value based care
- Care model transformation, including opportunities to develop and launch new initiatives (internal start-ups) to further strengthen our operating model
- Partnering with Corporate Development to identify M&A opportunities that further our strategy
- Developing policy strategy at the Federal and State level to advance value-based Kidney Care
- Intellectual curiosity and passion for the key issues facing healthcare and value-based care today
- Experience managing, developing and mentoring other teammates
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Outstanding conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to develop credibility quickly and build successful relationships
- Strong sense of accountability; ability to own projects and drive them to completion
