North Kingstown School Department is seeking a 1.0 FTE Special Educator - Clinical Day School Program for the 2024/25 SY, Grades 6-8 certification required
The focus of the program is to integrate therapeutic supports with individualized, standards-based instruction in order to prepare all of our students for success in a less restrictive environment.
Successful applicants should be proficient in performing the following tasks:
•Implementing classroom management strategies and proactive positive behavioral interventions;
•Providing evidence-based academic and functional instruction in a self-contained classroom setting to support students with a variety of intensive emotional and behavioral needs;
•Collaborating with behavior management assistants and service providers to develop functional IEP goals and data monitoring systems to communicate progress toward goals;
•Communicating regularly with parents to inform them of student progress;
•Maintaining accurate special education records and ensure compliance with special education timelines
