QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma required (minimum).
Typing skills minimum 60 words per minute preferred.
Basic computer skills and knowledge of standard office equipment.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Synergy, Google Apps, and a willingness to be trained in other programs, if needed.
Is able to compose written text using proper grammar and punctuation.
Understands importance of accuracy; grammar, spelling, punctuation, and fundamental mathematical skills necessary.
Exhibits excellent public relations skills in all communications; is tactful, pleasant, professional, and courteous.
Is able to observe school problems without carrying them into the community.
Maintains confidentiality regarding students and staff.
Must be neat and well groomed.
Must be dependable and have excellent attendance.
Must be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences both verbally and in writing.
Is able to get along well with a wide variety of people and work as a team player.
Is able to be self-directive in organizing and accomplishing office work priorities.
Can remain relaxed and clear-thinking under stress.
Exhibits emotional stability and physical stamina necessary for meeting the requirements of the position.
DUTIES:
Enrolls and maintains all confidential records for middle school students, both past and present.
Prepares child accounting reports.
Maintains CA-60s.
Processes grades and report cards, honor rolls, progress reports, etc.
Maintains and updates residency issues.
Prepares attendance letters.
Prepares materials and test scores.
Maintains health and immunization records for students.
Completes accident reports.
Completes guardianship and residency affidavits.
Processes Department of Social Services & Social Security Administration applications for students.
Prepares the schedule for the scheduling of courses for the next school year.
Prepares DMS 7th and 8th Grade Honors Program applications, placement letters to parents and handles initial communications from parents regarding appeals.
Prepares Eighth Grade Honors Night materials.
Composes and types counselor correspondence.
Oversees the clinic and administration of medication, etc.
Assists Middle School Athletic Director regarding sports roster, eligibility, and physicals.
Becomes a member of the First Responder Team (first aid/CPR).
Other duties as assigned.
SALARY: Per the DESA Master Agreement, Level 1, beginning at $15.25/hour
