Elliot is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in overhead and underground distribution, transmission, substations, lighting, traffic signaling, utility locating and industrial/commercial services.
Job Description
Davis H. Elliot is seeking an estimating co-op to assist estimators in developing accurate cost estimates for electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and telecommunications construction projects. This role is responsible for performing quantity takeoffs and assisting with pre-construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for materials and labor related to electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and telecommunications systems
- Manage and coordinate bid information among clients, general contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Prepare scope letters and project quotations for review by estimators and managers
- Assist Project Managers during the pre-construction phase
- Support senior estimators on large and complex estimates
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of the trades and general construction practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong general computer skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and contract documents
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Accubid estimating software (preferred but not required)
- Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
