Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Receiver to join our team. As a Receiver, you will be responsible for receiving and inspecting incoming shipments, verifying their contents, and ensuring they are properly stored in our warehouse. Your role is crucial in maintaining accurate inventory records and facilitating the smooth flow of goods within our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments and compare them with purchase orders or invoices
- Inspect shipments for damages or discrepancies
- Verify the accuracy of received items by checking quantity and quality
- Unload and load trucks using equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks
- Sort, label, and store received items in designated locations
- Update inventory records using warehouse management system (WMS) or other software
- Communicate with suppliers or carriers regarding shipment discrepancies or issues
- Assist in resolving any inventory-related problems or discrepancies
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and procedures
- Familiarity with e-commerce systems and processes
- Proficiency in using RF scanners for inventory tracking
- Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks (valid certification is a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
