Davis & Floyd is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Highway Inspector. Responsibilities
- Responsible for necessary inspection services for earthwork and base, asphalt, foundations, concrete, structures, erosion, and other construction related items
- Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with colleagues and client representatives
- Ensure that all new construction is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, special provisions, standard drawings, and approved materials lists
- Ensure that all construction projects are properly inspected
- Prepare daily inspection and contractor performance reports
- Perform field checks on all preliminary plans to assure completeness
- Ensure that design and construction is in accordance with the client’s concerns and permit requirements
- Monitor contractor’s schedule
- Compile closing packages
- Record as-built revisions and review with contractor
- Mentor other inspectors on the project site
- 10 years of experience required
- SCDOT project experience required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Certifications preferred:
o American Concrete Institute Field Technician – Grade 1 (ACI)
o SCDOT Asphalt Roadway Technician (ART)
o SCDOT Portland Cement Concrete Field Technician
o SCDOT Foundations Technician
o SCDOT Earthwork, Drainage & Base Inspector
o SCDHEC Certified Erosion Prevention & Sediment Control Inspector
