Job Summary
The Recess & Lunch Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during lunch and recess periods from 10:15am-1:15pm, Monday-Friday beginning August 31st. This position involves supervising students, promoting positive behavior, and assisting with conflict resolution in a school environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and possess strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents.
Duties
- Supervise students during lunch and recess to ensure a safe and positive environment.
- Assist with conflict management and behavior management among students.
- Provide first aid as needed and respond to any medical emergencies.
- Support students with special needs by implementing appropriate strategies for inclusion.
- Communicate effectively with teachers and staff regarding student behavior or concerns.
- Engage with students in a positive manner to promote social interaction and teamwork.
- Monitor student activities to ensure compliance with school rules and policies.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness in the dining area and playground.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid practices is essential.
- Familiarity with special education practices is a plus.
- Strong conflict management skills to handle disputes among students effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and parents.
- Experience in behavior management techniques is beneficial.
- Classroom experience or teaching background is desirable but not mandatory.
