We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, applied practices including the ability to assist in various dental procedures while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are prepared and available.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed, utilizing medical imaging techniques.
- Maintain accurate dental documentation for each patient visit, including treatment plans and progress notes.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage patient records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines to ensure confidentiality.
- Prepare treatment rooms by cleaning and sterilizing instruments and equipment before and after procedures.
- Exceptional infection control practices a must.
- Collaborate with the dental team to improve clinic operations and patient experiences.
Skills
- Proficiency in using dental management systems for record keeping.
- Knowledge of general dentistry practices and specialty is a plus, to assist effectively during treatments.
- Familiarity with dental documentation practices and charting to maintain accurate patient records.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to perform basic imaging tasks, including taking X-rays safely and accurately.
- Understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to dental health for better patient education.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and ensure their comfort during visits.
- Attention to detail in following protocols for infection control, equipment sterilization, and patient care.
