Overview
Davis Concrete Correctors is hiring full-time General Laborers / Field Technicians to join our growing team in Northwest Indiana. We specialize in mudjacking, basement waterproofing, and foundation repair for residential and commercial customers throughout NWI and the South Chicago suburbs.
This is a hands-on field role for people who take pride in physical work, a finished product, and doing the job right. Starting pay is $15 per hour for laborers, with overtime available and opportunities to advance into crew-lead and foreman roles (starting at $20 per hour for qualified candidates). We promote from within and look for reliable team members who want to build a long-term career in the trade.
Responsibilities
- Report to work on time, prepared, and ready to work a flexible schedule that may include overtime and Saturdays.
- Perform a variety of physically demanding tasks at job sites, including breaking out concrete, carrying materials, digging trenches for drain tile, mixing and placing concrete, and related labor.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment such as cement mixers, hammer drills, concrete breakers, and shovels.
- Assist the crew in meeting production and quality standards while keeping vehicles and work areas clean and organized.
- Work effectively as part of a team and support other crew members as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures in a construction environment that includes moving equipment, vehicles, and moderately loud noise.
- Work outdoors in a range of weather conditions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation (required).
- Legally authorized to work in the United States (required).
- Ability to commute to job sites based out of the Griffith, IN area.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work on a daily basis, including regularly lifting up to 75 lbs and working in all weather conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous construction, landscaping, or similar physical labor experience preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow directions, work well with others, and maintain a consistent, reliable schedule.
- Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
