Job Summary
The Survey Rodman assists the survey crew in performing land and construction surveys to support site layout, boundary location, and construction activities. This role involves operating equipment, setting up instruments, and performing physical tasks under the direction of the lead surveyor to ensure accuracy and efficiency on job sites.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup and operation of surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS units, and levels.
- Clear vegetation and obstructions from survey lines and set stakes or markers as directed.
- Carry and organize survey equipment and tools to and from job sites.
- Maintain and clean surveying instruments and tools to ensure functionality and accuracy.
- Follow instructions to take measurements and record data under supervision.
- Assist in loading and unloading survey vehicles and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Prior construction or surveying experience is a plus but not required.
- Ability to read construction plans and drawings is a plus.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn
