Job Summary

The Adult Intensive Outpatient Substance Use Treatment Supervisor is a licensed mental health professional who provides oversight of the operations, clinical services and staff, ensuring high quality, compassionate and effective care is provided. The supervisor is responsible for program development, implementation, monitoring, staff training, regulatory compliance and interdepartmental coordination.

The Adult Intensive Outpatient Substance Use Treatment Supervisor ensures services within the program are designed to help individuals overcome substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders. The supervisor ensures the program provides intensive, structured, evidence-based care aimed at reducing or eliminating substance use, promoting mental and physical well-being and supporting long-term recovery.


Essential Job Functions

The Adult Intensive Outpatient Substance Use Treatment Supervisor Is responsible for performing the following essential job functions at the expected level and within the expected timeframes:

  • Maintain monthly productivity standards.
  • Complete evaluations, risk assessments and safety/relapse prevention plans.
  • Provide level of care and treatment recommendations.
  • Develop treatment plans.
  • Provide individual, group and family therapy.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed and assigned.

Position-specific Job Functions

In addition to the essential job functions outlined above, the following responsibilities are assigned to your specific position.

  • Lead and supervise therapists.
  • Co-supervise recovery support specialists assigned to the IOP program.
  • Develop, monitor and track program implementation to ensure client needs are being met and treatment is effective.
  • Ensure staff are meeting the agency productivity and documentation standards, managing caseloads effectively, maintaining ethical and professional behavior, in compliance with state and agency guidelines, providing evidenced based treatment and utilizing best practice guidelines.
  • Conduct weekly team meetings and individual supervision meetings with clinicians.
  • Identify, provide and coordinate training as needed.
  • Monitor clients to ensure services are being accessed and/or referred to appropriate programs and levels of care within DBH as well as outside referrals.
  • Manage intensive outpatient group schedules.
  • Collaborate with different departments and community partners to support client and agency needs.
  • Monitor staff time and attendance and approve employee timecards.
  • Coordinate and participate with Program Director and Human Resources on Personnel Actions and any disciplinary processes.
  • Attend quarterly supervisors meeting.
  • Other duties and responsibilities and needed and assigned.

Required Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Education

Master's degree in social work or a related field preferred.

Certification/Licensure

Current licensure int he State of Utah as an LCSW, CMHC, or MFT.

Training

Complete all required training that is assigned to the Adult Intensive Outpatient Substance Use Treatment Supervisor position by defined deadlines.


Experience Required

Required

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a behavioral health setting.
  • Experience and knowledge of substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders.
  • Experience using ASAM criteria to make level of care and treatment recommendations.

Preferred

  • Supervisory or administrative experience is preferred.
  • Working with justice referred individuals is preferred.

Qualifications/Skills/Abilities

The Adult Intensive Outpatient Substance Use Treatment Supervisor must possess the following qualifications, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • All employees at DBH must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check as well as a pre-employment drug screening. Since Davis Behavioral Health works with federal grants, the company and its employees must comply with federal drug laws, including no use of medical marijuana.

Skills & Abilities

  • Clinical expertise in screening, assessments and diagnosis to include ASAM dimension criteria and levels of care within substance use disorder treatment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Understanding of the addiction process.
  • Strong supervisory and team-building skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to make sound clinical and operational judgments.
  • Strong organizational and practice management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff and community agencies.

Compensation

The Adult Intensive Outpatient Substance Use Treatment Supervisor is a full-time, exempt position.

Base Rate
The base rate for fully licensed clinicians is calculated with a starting annual rate of $77,000 plus credit for years of full-licensure experience as defined below:

  • $77,000.00 to $88,000.00 per year is the approved base rate range
  • 1% per year for each year of full licensure
  • $3,000 Spanish-language incentive annual stipend (paid bi-weekly) available. Must pass a Spanish assessment.

All current DBH clinical staff's wages are in line with the compensation structure outlined above, so no adjustments will be made to base wages for the successful candidate.

Supervisory Stipend

In addition to base wages, the Adult Intensive Outpatient Substance Use Treatment Supervisor will receive a $200.00 per bi-weekly pay period supervisory stipend. If the successful candidate leaves a supervisory role, the stipend will be discontinued.


Employment Schedule

Work schedules at DBH are established to meet the needs of our clients and the agency. Program Supervisors, with the approval of Program Directors, determine the specific schedules for their assigned departments and have the authority to ask employees to work a different shift and/or in a different location on a short-term or permanent basis to meet the departments' needs.

Full-time employees are required to work 40 hours per week. Part-time employees must work less than 30 hours per week.

Salary : $77,000 - $88,000
