About the Position
We are a small, locally owned automotive repair shop looking for a dependable and customer-focused Service Writer/Service Advisor to join our team. This position is the primary point of contact between our customers and technicians and plays an important role in keeping the shop running smoothly.
The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, comfortable communicating with customers, and able to manage multiple priorities in a busy repair shop environment. Automotive knowledge is helpful, but strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills are equally important.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers, discuss their vehicle concerns and service needs, answer incoming calls, and schedule appointments
- Create and maintain accurate repair orders and customer and vehicle records
- Communicate customer concerns to technicians, review technician findings, and prepare repair estimates
- Explain recommended repairs, maintenance, costs, and timelines clearly and professionally, and obtain customer authorization before work begins
- Keep customers updated throughout the repair process and follow up when appropriate
- Coordinate with technicians and parts suppliers to help maintain an efficient workflow and schedule
- Prepare invoices, review completed work with customers, and process payments
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional front-office environment
- Assist with other day-to-day shop operations as needed
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using computers, phones, and shop management or scheduling software
- Ability to communicate effectively with both customers and technicians
- Basic understanding of automotive repair and maintenance preferred
- Previous experience as a Service Writer, Service Advisor, automotive parts professional, or in an automotive repair environment is preferred but not required for the right candidate
- Valid driver’s license

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
