Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to optimize, standardize, and improve manufacturing processes across our powder production lines, melt shop and downstream operations. This role reports to the Director of Operations and works closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams. The ideal candidate has experience in metal/alloy processing in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Analyze, improve, and document production processes to increase throughput, consistency, and product quality.
Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, improve yield, and optimize cycle times across melt and powder manufacturing operations.
Lead process trials, parameter studies, and continuous improvement events on the production floor.
Develop and update work instructions, SOPs, and process control documentation in alignment with ISO 9001 quality system requirements.
Support new alloy and powder product development with hands-on engineering, process validation, and data analysis.
Partner with maintenance to improve equipment uptime, reliability, and preventive maintenance programs.
Work directly with the Quality Department to produce product certifications, address nonconformances and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Provide training to operators, technicians, and supervisors on new processes and improvements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering perferred but other displines such as Chemical or Industrial Engineering will be considered
3 years of process engineering experience in manufacturing; experience in alloys, metals, casting, or powders preferred.
Proficienct in quality systems and documentation.
Hands-on, production-floor focused problem solver.
Skilled in process mapping and data-driven decision making.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
