What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometric technician/Patient Care Coordinator position at DaVinci Eye Care?
DaVinci Eye Care is growing! We need to expand our patient care staff and are seeking applicants for the following position(s):
- Optometric Technician and Patient Care Coordinator
Candidates must be exceptionally friendly, motivated to learn and enjoy working with patients. Ability to multitask is a plus. Attention to detail, superior listening skills, ability to follow detailed instructions, efficiency, and compassion are all required.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule visits for our 3 doctors
- Verify routine vision and medical insurance eligibility (via PEAR, NaviNet, Availity, etc.)
- Input patient data into the EHR (via OfficeMate/ExamWriter)
- Faxing, scanning, filing, and mailing documentation
- Welcoming patients and visitors, answering the telephone, and responding to patient inquires
- Collect payments from patients as required by insurance
- Assist in direct patient care, as needed
- Assist patients with glasses and contacts, as needed
- Maintaining a clean work environment
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in patient care or other medical fields
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to build rapport with patients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment
- Must be detail oriented, organized and a team player
- Positive attitude and enthusiastic with a high level of professionalism and self motivation
- Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Marketing experience is a plus
