Duties
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all nursing departments, ensuring delivery of exceptional care aligned with organizational goals.
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive care plans tailored to residents’ individual needs, including those requiring specialized services like hospice or home health.
- Supervise nurse management staff and direct the recruitment, training, evaluation, and retention of nursing personnel.
- Oversee compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, Medicare requirements, and state licensing standards.
- Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical documentation review to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and timely updates in accordance with medical terminology and physiology knowledge.
- Coordinate shift management to optimize staffing levels while maintaining quality care standards across all shifts.
- Lead efforts in documentation review related to resident’s
(Personalized Care Plans), MDS (Minimum Data Set assessments), and medical records to support quality assurance and regulatory audits. - Foster a culture of continuous improvement by analyzing clinical outcomes, implementing best practices in nursing administration, and promoting staff development through supervising experience initiatives.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident satisfaction and overall facility performance in areas such as care plans, safety protocols, and documentation review.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health agencies or hospice care environments with demonstrated leadership capabilities in nurse management or nursing administration.
- Extensive knowledge of acute care practices, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and documentation standards.
- Strong familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for efficient data management.
- Supervising experience in managing multidisciplinary teams within healthcare settings; excellent leadership skills essential for fostering team cohesion.
- In-depth understanding of regulatory compliance including HIPAA privacy rules and Medicare guidelines.
- Ability to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to diverse resident needs while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with staff members, residents’ families, regulatory agencies, and healthcare providers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher; current RN licensure required; additional certifications in hospice or home health are advantageous.
