Receptionist

- Shift: Monday - Thursday, 8:00am-4:00pm
Job Description
- Greets all patients and guests in initiating check-in process.
- Obtains and verifies accurate patient identification and demographic data to confirm or update the patient's record while maintaining confidentiality of information.
- Is responsible for completing eligibility of insurances presented and possibly offering some financial counseling as well as conducting point of service collections.
- Is responsible for completing registration for all admission processes while providing customer service in person.
- Schedules new and return appointments.
- Answers the telephone in a professional and courteous manner; takes messages; directs calls to appropriate staff members.
- Explains billing policies and collects co-payments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- HS diploma or GED.
- One year experience in office setting or hospital setting.
- Excellent customer service and clerical experience a must.
- Candidate must be able to multi-task while being detail-oriented, organized, time management skills and efficient and have computer skills with at least 40 wpm.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Must be team-oriented but able to work independently.
- Ability to communicate in English; both verbally and written. (Additional languages preferred)
- Job can require long periods of standing and walking as well as repetitive standing and sitting.
- Preferred qualifications: experience with billing and insurance
