ER Patient Access Representative
- Department: Patient Access
- Schedule: Full-Time: 32 Hours/Week
- Shift: 11:00pm - 7:00am**
Job Description
**This position requires every other weekend.
- Greets all patients and guests in initiating check in process.
- Obtains and verified accurate patient identification & demographic data to confirm or update the patient’s record while maintaining confidentiality for information.
- Is responsible for completing eligibility of insurances presented and possibly offering some financial counselling as well as conducting point of service collections.
- Is responsible for completing registration for all admission processes while providing customer service in person and via phone.
- Responsible for switchboard during all working hours.
Qualifications
- HS diploma or GED and copy must be available.
- Excellent customer and clerical experience needed.
- Candidate must be able to multi-task while being detail oriented and have computer skills with at least 40 wpm.
- Must be team orientated but also able to work independently.
- Job can require long periods of standing and walking as well as repetitive standing and sitting.
Preferred qualifications:
- Medical and insurance experience
- Medical terminology
- Fluently bi-lingual
