Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance including mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and fertilizing to keep outdoor areas vibrant and healthy
- Conduct tree care activities such as trimming, pruning, planting, and removal using appropriate tools and techniques
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment including lawn mowers, power tools, excavators, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently
- Apply pesticides and herbicides following strict safety protocols to protect plants from pests and diseases
- Maintain hardscape features such as pathways, patios, retaining walls, and other outdoor structures with proper tools and techniques
- Follow all safety procedures diligently during outdoor work to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment
Experience
- Proven outdoor work experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance or related fields with knowledge of horticulture principles
- Mechanical knowledge of power tools, hand tools, irrigation systems, and landscape equipment operation
- Familiarity with plant identification, pesticide management, tree care practices including trimming and pruning techniques
- Construction experience or familiarity with hardscape installation is a plus
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators safely when required for larger projects
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to outdoor work environments and equipment handling
- Previous experience with snow plowing or winter landscape maintenance is advantageous but not mandatory
