Position: Program Director of Behavioral Day Program - David's Place 3
Reports to: VP of Operations

Position Purpose:
In accordance with established policies and procedures, the Program Director will oversee the programs’ daily scheduled activities designed specifically for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) who choose to be active in their community through a variety of daily activities, with a focus on preparing them for job readiness and microenterprise opportunities. Participants will require increased positive behavior supports around their activities of daily living, communication, social engagement, health, and independence. The Program Director will be responsible for implementing onsite/offsite group activities, staff development and training, evaluation, and the direction of program services. They will ensure compliance with all applicable regulations (Title 17 and WIC Standards), provide direct supervision of staff, maintain approved staffing ratios on-site and in the community, and manage a program budget.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Organize and supervise the program in accordance with established policies.
- Oversee budgeting, program design and implementation, project planning, staff development and training, evaluation, and the direction of program services.
- Monitor and support the activities of staff to carry out all program services in coordination with contractual requirements.
- Supervise admissions, discharges, crisis intervention, and assessments.
- Establish program training materials and enhance program design.
- Monitor Risk Assessment procedures and ensure documentation is utilized and followed.
- Oversee the assessment, development, and implementation of groups and activities.
- Select, train, and supervise assigned staff.
- Coordinate with the regional center for Individual Person-Centered Plan objectives.
- Perform monthly supervision of staff and provide reports to the VP of Operations.
- Conduct unannounced visits for community and onsite group activities.
- Develop collaborations with agencies and attend meetings as required.
- Provide a positive experience for staff, clients, service coordinators, and community representatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Human Services.
- Minimum of 18 months experience in the management of a human services delivery system, or five years in a management or supervisory position.
- Minimum of 2 years full-time experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Experience overseeing and ensuring the process of staff preparing individuals for job readiness and microenterprise opportunities.
- Experience supervising staff assisting individuals with IDD in daily activities.
- Conflict resolution/problem-solving skills.
- Good driving record and valid California Driver’s License.
- Successful completion of all pre-employment requirements, including background check, drug screening, and physical.
Candidates with experience in management of day programs and supervision of staff, as well as experience in day programs specific to working with dual diagnosis of developmental disabilities and mental illnesses, are highly desirable. A Customized Employment Training may be required prior or after hiring date.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
