Key Responsibilities:
- Perform condition inspections of existing bridges and tunnels.
- Generate and edit bridge and tunnel inspection reports.
- Organize information for use in project documents.
- Assist with the development of bridge load rating calculations.
- Assist with bridge rehabilitation and maintenance projects.
- Perform structural analyses and develop calculations using the AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation and other codes.
- Assist with the development of engineering drawing details.
- Assist with bridge preservation projects by creating concept reports.
- Develop engineering quantity and cost estimates.
- Assist with the development of project specifications.
- Review of contractor submittals during construction.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering or completing degree in Spring 2027.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in bridge inspection, load rating, or design.
- Licensed Engineer-in-Training (EIT).
- Proficiency in Mathcad and Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word).
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Proficiency in drafting tools like MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D.
- Successful completion of NHI 130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges (or ability to complete within the first year).
- Knowledge of and experience with bridge inspection and bridge management software, such as AASHTOWare BrM and AssetIntel InspectX.
- Experience with bridge load rating/analysis software like AASHTOWare BrR, CSiBridge, SAP2000, Midas Civil, PG Super/WSDOT BridgeLink, Conspan, or LPile.
