We deliver safe, reliable, and affordable electricity for communities across various sectors, including power generation, renewables, and transportation electrification. Our comprehensive services are tailored to meet the technical, financial, environmental, and political needs of our clients. Whether the goal is to enhance current infrastructure or embark on a new innovative energy project, DEA has the expertise to see it through to completion and foster a more resilient future.

The Energy Business Unit is seeking a Power Market Leader in Seattle, WA or Portland, OR.

In this role, you will lead DEA's Power market strategy across the Pacific Northwest, helping strengthen and expand relationships with investor-owned utilities, municipal utilities, and federal power organizations throughout the region. Partnering closely with Energy Business Unit leadership, Client Team Leaders, and technical teams, you will help transform existing client relationships into long-term trusted advisor partnerships, drive strategic growth initiatives, guide pursuit strategies, and expand DEA's presence across the electrical power delivery market.

What You’ll Do

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead regional Power market strategy in partnership with Energy Business Unit leadership, Client Team Leaders, Practice Leaders, and other internal partners.
  • Expand and deepen existing utility relationships by positioning DEA as a trusted advisor and strategic partner while identifying opportunities to increase client engagement, backlog, and sales growth.
  • Develop and maintain market intelligence, including client priorities, funding streams, industry trends, competitive activity, technology trends, and emerging opportunities across the power utilities market.
  • Drive business development strategy by guiding client growth plans, sales forecasting, pursuit strategy, go/no-go discussions, strategic teaming, and proposal development for priority opportunities.
  • Serve as a senior client-facing leader, building trusted relationships with utility, federal, public, and industrial clients while supporting Client Team Leaders when executive-level presence or escalation is needed.
  • Champion DEA’s client experience approach by helping teams set clear expectations, maintain effective communication, follow through on commitments, and deliver high-quality work.
  • Coordinate with project managers and technical delivery teams to support pursuit planning, project staffing, workload awareness, risk management, quality expectations, and successful project delivery.
  • Monitor market performance, including sales results, pipeline health, net revenue forecasts, client mix, backlog, profitability, and business development spending.
  • Partner on recruiting, retention, and talent development efforts to ensure DEA has the leadership, technical expertise, and client-facing capacity needed to grow the Power market.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience required.
  • Minimum of 12 years of related experience in a complex consulting, professional services, or similar organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve expected net sales results between $2M and $10M, or comparable business development results for a group of similar size and scope.
  • Experience providing leadership, management, and coordination of business development efforts, including developing leads, supporting BD visioning and strategy, and converting opportunities into sales.
  • Strong business management skills, including the ability to establish clear objectives, deliver measurable results, monitor pipeline performance, and support sales forecasting.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively, develop staff or client teams, and gain support from multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience coordinating contract negotiations or pursuit strategy with management while adhering to internal contracting, risk, and business development processes.
  • Active involvement in one or more professional organizations, industry groups, committees, or special project teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
