The Energy team is seeking an Electrical Designer in the Puget Sound Region.

What You’ll Do

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design of electrical systems including main service and distribution, standby power, general power, and circuiting etc.
  • Design and produce drawings suitable for construction with sufficient detail based on engineer input including verbal and written instructions and drawing upon previous work and a library of electronic and hard-copy reference material.
  • Understand and comply with both client-specific and DEA CAD standards and preferences.
  • Implement file management procedures to organize and maintain electronic drawing files.
  • Communicate effectively with the other drafting and design staff and clients

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience as an electrical designer or equivalent.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD with working knowledge in the other CAD applications (MicroStation, Revit) preferred.
  • Must demonstrate strong ethical behavior while striving to produce quality work within project budgets and schedules.
  • Must understand the value of client satisfaction.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be a self-starter, be a highly motivated team player, and able to work under time constraints.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task on several design projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of lighting.
  • Basic knowledge of data cabling, fire alarms, CCTV, and access control.
  • Ability to provide quality control of others’ work.
  • Ability to modify technical specifications as needed.
  • Understanding of national, Washington state, and local electrical codes.

  • The posted salary range represents the typical range for this position and is provided in accordance with applicable state and local transparency laws. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
