The Construction Engineering Services Practice is seeking a Construction Inspector in Bellevue, WA.
In this position, you will provide on-site construction inspections and applicable documentation for transportation projects. This includes observation of construction work activities for compliance with plans and specifications, preparation of required contract documentation, and following prescribed Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures consistent with State and Local guidelines.
What You'll DoKey Responsibilities:- Coordinate, perform, and/or supervise technical engineering work in the field
- Inspect, observe, and ensure that a construction project is constructed in accordance with contract plans and specifications
- Maintain accurate daily work reports (labor, equipment, materials, quantities)
- Identify contract changes and assist in preparation of change orders
- Communicate effectively with the Contractors, Owners, Construction Manager, Project Engineer, or other field staff
- Prepare pay item reports for progress payments
- Coordinate the required materials, samples, and testing
- Seven plus (7 ) years of progressively complex experience in construction inspection
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
- Ability to work effectively with client representatives, contractors, the public, and internal team members at all levels
- Excellent demonstrated independence and reliability when working in field-based environments
- Proven capacity to multitask, prioritize competing responsibilities, and track construction issues through resolution
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, required for field assignments
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management
- 3 years of construction inspection experience working on large roadways, bridges, and highway projects
- Has competent knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the construction field.
- WSDOT project experience
- WSDOT Inspector Certifications
- Experience inspecting Federally funded projects.
