JOB SUMMARY :
The Press Operator/Set-Up Person performs setup and first piece operations for blanking, bending, punching, and forming of metal components based on blueprints and other instructions.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The requirements listed below are representative of the essential duties required:
• Set-up and run first piece operations of the press machines.
• Collaborate with the Machine Shop Supervisor to correct first piece inspection discrepancies.
• Operate hydraulic presses to blank, punch, and form metallic components.
• Set up and operate forming/secondary equipment to form metal to the desired shape.
• Ensure safety procedures are being followed at all times.
• Deburr/tumble.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY:
• Employee works under general supervision.
• Employee has little or no decision-making responsibility.
• The employee has little or no impact on the decisions of others.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Experience operating presses and bending equipment.
• Knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to multi-task and follow directions.
• Ability to follow proper safety protocols.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Position does not require any previous experience working with office software.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• None.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
• 1-3 years of related experience required.
• Specialized training or certification preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Physical Demands/Efforts
• Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time (3-4 hours).
• Frequent physical exertion including the lifting of objects exceeding 50 pounds.
Mental & Visual Demands
• Work is routine and consistent from day to day.
• Work requires visual effort for periods of time.
Work Environment and Hazards
• Some areas of the building are not climate controlled.
• Some exposure to heat, dust, or other factors of minor inconvenience.
• Some exposure to hazards that might cause minor injury.
