JOB SUMMARY :
The Janitor will clean, sanitize, and maintain commercial buildings.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The requirements listed below are representative of the essential duties required:
- Performs general cleaning and sanitizing tasks and services as assigned.
- Uses cleaning cart to transport cleaning supplies.
- Cleans and disinfects bathrooms.
- Vacuums and cleans floors, rugs, and furniture.
- Stocks paper towels, toilet paper and any other necessary items in bathrooms.
- Picks up and empties trash containers.
- Notifies maintenance if something is not working properly.
- Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, & banisters.
- Other duties as required.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Employee works under general supervision.
- Employee has little or no decision-making responsibility.
- The employee has little or no impact on the decisions of others.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- None.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of employees.
- Position does not require any previous experience working with office software.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 0-1 Year Experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Physical Demands/Efforts
- Occasional physical exertion including the lifting of objects exceeding 20 pounds.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking and frequently pulling, pushing and bending.
Mental & Visual Demands
- Ability to distinguish various colors of wires and distinguish electronic system sections and wiring.
- Work is routine and consistent from day to day.
- Work requires some degree of visual effort for periods of time.
Work Environment and Hazards
- Some exposure to heat, dust or other factors of minor inconvenience.
- Some exposure to hazards that might cause minor injury.
- Knowledge of safety guidelines when working with chemical cleaners.
