The Patient Services Representative (PSR) reports directly to the PSR Supervisor and the Director of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) and Compliance. The PSR is responsible for coordinating and managing daily front desk operations at the David C. Wynecoop Memorial Health Center while maintaining a professional, welcoming, and patient-centered environment. This position serves as a key point of contact for patients, ensuring efficient administrative support, exceptional customer service, accurate patient registration, appointment management, and compliance with all organizational policies and confidentiality requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Register patients and ensure paperwork is accurate and complete.
- Schedule, cancel, and manage appointments in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Scanning documents into EMR records to update patient demographics.
- Answer phone calls, voicemails, mail, and emails promptly.
- Calling patients for upcoming appointments.
- Respond to patient concerns and complaints professionally and empathetically.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, staff, and outside organizations.
- Collaborate with team members and perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year of office experience.
- Must be computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and willing to learn new software for scheduling and scanning documents
- Strong customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Business, Accounting, Healthcare, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a medical, dental, or behavioral health clinic.
Must provide documentation of immunity to measles, and rubella, or become vaccinated with the recommended vaccines and hepatitis B vaccine Must test for Tuberculosis (TB) at time of hire and per the National Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines as required. Must have an annual health exam and a flu immunization and Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) vaccination or exemption as required.
Must successfully pass a Pre-employment drug screen test and submit to a criminal background check
