Position Summary
As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for providing direct physical security for the David C Cook headquarters. Your role will include patrolling the facility, responding to emergencies, enforcing safety procedures, and protecting personnel and property. This position requires someone who is action-oriented, highly observant, and calm under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide visible deterrence and monitor public and non-public areas, including buildings, parking areas, stairwells, and grounds.
- Respond promptly to emergency and non-emergency situations.
- Intervene in crises with empathy, clarity, and authority.
- Investigate and document suspicious activity, intrusions, damage, or emergencies.
- Maintain clear communication with team members, management, and public safety personnel.
- Assist with coordination during fire, medical, or security emergencies.
- Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs
- Must be able to work on short notice. Must be willing to work varying shifts to include nights and weekends. Subject to call out any time.
- Escort staff and visitors when needed; assist with tenant safety.
- Complete detailed incident reports.
- Perform reception duties during normal shift hours as needed. Welcome visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone, answering or referring inquiries.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including special projects.
