Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and safety procedures.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute projects.
- Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters to identify issues quickly and efficiently.
- Handle high-voltage electrical wiring safely during installation or repair processes on industrial equipment or power distribution systems.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete electrical work with precision and safety.
- Conduct routine maintenance on existing electrical systems, including low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and industrial electrical components.
- Ensure all work aligns with local electrical codes (such as NEC), NFPA 70 standards, and company safety protocols while maintaining detailed documentation of inspections and repairs.
Requirements
- Valid electrician license with proven experience as a licensed electrician in industrial or commercial settings.
- Extensive experience working with industrial electrical systems, including high-voltage wiring and low-voltage controls.
- Strong understanding of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and local electrical codes.
- Proficiency in reading electrical blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Skilled in troubleshooting complex electrical systems using diagnostic tools like voltmeters, ohmmeters, and schematics.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation controls is highly desirable.
- Ability to work safely on construction sites or renovation projects while following strict electrical safety procedures.
- Familiarity with construction site practices such as framing carpentry or handyman skills is a plus for versatile project support.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to diagnosing issues quickly.
